Choose an existing source

Use a linked view when another page needs a view of the same records. Choose the database you can access and verify the source before adding filters.

Keep view settings separate

Configure filters and visible properties for the linked view. A record edit still affects the source record, and the view does not grant access to hidden records.

Illustration. One source supplies a linked view with its own filters.
  1. In the source database, add an open task and a completed task.
  2. Place a linked view of that source on another page and filter it to show open tasks.
  3. Open the visible task from the linked view and change its title. Check the record and the list in the original view.

Expected result. The new title is visible in the source. The completed task stays visible there if the original view includes it.
